Family Group Movement - St Joseph & St Patrick's Church

If you are new to Helensville/Huapai community, or wanting to develop relationships in the community, we would love to welcome you into a family group where you can meet others in the Parish. Passionist Family Groups (PFG) are a great way to get to know people, make new friends and build a network in the community. Groups meet regularly for social get-togethers, with something for everyone – all are welcome.

Family Groups were established in our Parish, over 30 years ago, with the aim of promoting community spirit by sharing Christian life and supporting each other, especially in times of need.

Activities include pot luck dinners, walks and picnics at Muriwai, BBQs, Irish music nights and so on. Costs are kept to a minimum and we have heaps of fun together!

However, it is in times of adversity that the groups shine through. Our son was injured in a car accident and we spent anxious hours at the hospital. Returning home we would find a meal or a cake had been left for us. This was our group's way of supporting us.

We want people to feel welcome in our Parish and develop a true sense of belonging. The acts of kindness, the personal concern and sharing have a spiritual basis which reflects the gospel.

Can anyone join a Family Group?
